INFRASTRUCTURE SUPERVISORS | CIVIL + ROAD WORKS

A great opportunity exists for an individual with infrastructure supervisor skills with

significant experience in urban roads maintenance; including footpaths and drainage. Preferably with strong experience in Local Government procurement procedures, to fulfill a role with a Local Government Sector SOR and someone who strives to adhere to the following values.

The Role Outline but not limited to:

  • Organise administrative, labour, plant, material and contract resources to achieve desired quality, effectiveness, cost and timeliness of programs and projects in the areas under control.
  • Civil works including but not limited to: Road, Footpaths, Drainage Maintenance, Subdivision inspections & Crossover and Verge Compliance
  • Liaise with other authorities on required technical matters associated with Council’s construction and maintenance projects
  • Exercise initiative and make good judgements, accommodating of political and organisational sensitivities.
  • Have knowledge and understanding of appropriate awards to ensure good human resource management within role.
  • Consult & Liaise with public utility organisations on technical issues in carrying out manual work where necessary.
  • Coordinate and monitor, all works programmes to ensure that they are completed to council specifications and costs, monitoring quality control / assurance procedures, and to recognise and correct quality deviations and or faults, including work of other employees.
  • 9 day fortnight – 76 hour Roster.

Criteria:

  • White card
  • Minimum 6 month’s experience within a similar Local Government Supervisory role
  • Valid driver’s licence (HR desirable)
  • Knowledge & training in Civil works and Road WHS & Policies
  • A current satisfactory National Police Certificate
